Regarded as one of Australia's best underground thrash metal acts, Metreya have exploded back onto the metal scene with the release of their debut E.P. entitled Machines of War. Featuring 5 blistering speed metal classics,
Machines of War is set to cause a frenzy among the metal community.

Metreya are unequivocally thrash metal, delivering a true late 80's thrash metal master class reminiscent of the best the genre has to offer. Exodus, Dark Angel, Anthrax and Kreator count as major influences.

Formed around 2005 as Blackened, the thrashers made an immediate impact on the local scene and were invited to share the stage with some of Australia's best metal acts. The band was rapidly rising to the top of Australia’s metal
scene, until unforeseen circumstances forced the band into hiatus for a number of years.

However, the time out of the spotlight was put to good use; the band solidified their lineup with a fantastic lead guitarist, a new batch of super thrash metal was written, and a plan was devised to re-launch under a new name.

In 2012, the thrash beast that is Metreya was unleashed. The band has once again made an immediate impact on the metal scene, delivering highly energetic live shows while supporting many of Australia’s top metal bands.

In 2013 Metreya will release the Machines of War E.P. The tracks on the E.P. are classic Blackened era material which has become fan favourites and staples of Metreya’s live set. A music video for the title track was released and has been extremely well received.

The band will build on the success of their E.P. and plan to release a full length in early 2014. Metreya live and breathe thrash metal and know what it takes to deliver what will be revered as a bona fide thrash classic.

Until then, be prepared for the Machines of War!
