From the depths of the Tasmanian wilderness, via the industrial wastelands and forbidden forests of Japan Thrall, have come to the vanguard of a new style of authentic black metal that seamlessly introduces doom, crust and death metal elements to the established genre.

Thrall began as songwriter, illustrator, guitarist and vocalist, Tom Void’s solo-project. Over time, Void has expanded the line up to include drummer and vocalist Em Støy (Friktelig Støy), Rampage Ritson (ex-Disseminate) on bass and Ramez Bathish (Extinct Exist, ex-ABC Weapons and ex-Whitehorse) on guitar.

Recently returned from Japan, Thrall decimated Japanese audiences with their visceral, aural hatred.

Previous releases include Away from the Haunts of Men (Total Holocaust Records and Moribund Records - 2010) and Vermin to the Earth (Moribund Records and Obsidian Records - 2011). Both albums received positive reviews, commenting on Thrall's varied tempos and atmospheres that contrast "hauntingly eerie and hypnotic" darkness, and "hell-blasting" black metal aggression.

Thrall’s third album Aokigahara Jukai will be released on LP and CD by German label, Eisenwald. Aokigahara Jukai is the culmination of Thrall’s stylistic evolution, effortlessly blending disparate influences within a black metal context.
