ARTIST: MAKE THEM SUFFER
ALBUM: NEVERBLOOM
TRACKS:
HAILING FROM THE SCORCHING RED SANDS OF WESTERN AUSTRALIA, AND AFTER IMPRESSING IN 2010 WITH THERE EP ”LORD OF WOE” THIS DYNAMIC DEATHCORE OUTFIT MAKE THEM SUFFER SIGNED WITH ROADRUNNER RECORDS TO RELEASE THERE DEBUT LP “NEVERBLOOM”, A 10 TRACK NOISE EXPLOSION OF CROSSOVER METAL.
CONSISTING OF THE TITANIUM THROATED FRONTMAN SEAN HARMANIS, NICK MCLERNON AND CRAIG BUCKINGHAM ON GUITARS, BASSIST CHRISTOPHER ARIAS-REAL, TIM MADDEN ON THE DRUMS AND LOUISA BURTON TAKING CARE OF THE PIANO AND BACKING VOCALS, THIS SIX PIECE TAKE ON THE WORLDS BEST OF THE GENRE WITH A TIGHT AND IMPRESSIVE PERFORMANCE FOR A DEBUT ALBUM, SHOWING THERE CLASS AND SLOTTING INTO THE METAL SCENE COMFORTABLY. WITH THE BACKING OF ROADRUNNER RECORDS WHO HAVE AN ALMIGHTY STABLE OF MUSICIANS AT THERE DISPOSAL IM SURE THESE GUYS HAVE A HUGE FUTURE WITH REGARDS TO PROMOTION AND TOURING.
SOUNDING A LOT LIKE THE MANY OTHER BANDS IN THE GENRE IT TAKES ALOT TO STAND OUT, OR TO BRING SOMETHING NEW TO TABLE, AND I THINK ADDING THE PIANO/SYNTH TO THIS MIXTURE HELPS THERE CAUSE AND GIVES IT A MELLOW FEEL IN BETWEEN THE DEATHCORE STYLED RIFFS AND MULTI TONED VOCAL ATTACK THAT CAN GET ABIT MUCH AFTER A FEW SONGS. BUT I GUESS THAT WHAT MAKES THEM DIFFERENT FROM YOUR STOCK STANDARD DEATH METAL/GRINDCORE OR THRASH VOCALIST, MIXING THESE GENRES TO ONE WILD SOUNDING BEAST.
BUT AT THE END OF THE DAY IT STILL HAS EVERYTHING DEATHCORE LOVERS REQUIRE IN A FULL LENGTH RIPPER, IT HAS SPEED, IT HAS HEAD CRUNCHING GUITAR WORK AND IT HAS THE SOUND YOU WANT WHEN YOU AND YOUR BUDDIES ARE TAKING IT TO THE PIT IN A SWEAT FILLED FIT. WE HAVE TO REMEMBER THAT THIS IS THE DEBUT RELEASE FROM MAKE THEM SUFFER AND THEY’VE PULLED IT OFF TO PERFECTION AND HAVE ALREADY MADE A MARK ON AUSTRALIAN METAL, AND I EXPECT TO SEE THEM MAKING A BIGGER MARK IN THE FUTURE WITH THE CONTINUED BACKING OF THE MULTI NATIONAL LABEL IN ROADRUNNER RECORDS AND AN ALREADY HUGE FANBASE.
