ARTIST: ORBWEAVER
ALBUM: STRANGE TRANSMISSIONS FROM THE NEURALNOMICON
TRACKS:
“Houston we have a problem!" And it’s not some NASA screw up I’m talking about here, this is way beyond my comprehension of all things space and universe, this static noise like reception we are receiving through our earthling stereo systems must be some kind of Alien communication from planets unknown, weird man!
Right enough bullshit and rambling, but this sound I’m getting through my headphones right now belongs not of this stinking Earth, but on some Space station, serious! I’m referring to Miami based Psychedelic Death outfit “Orbweaver”, whom grace us with a brutal piece of mind bending, ear drum bashing metal overdrive. Members Randy Piro (Guitar/Vocals), Sally Gates (Guitars), Jason Ledgard (Bass) and Mike Pena on the kit (album), recently replaced by Scott Spasiano throw everything you could possibly want in a release featuring every genre known to man, slashes of Grind to Death, Thrash to Black, Doom to well Jazz, just some crazy assed stuff! Randy Piro is the star of this album, the ex-Hate Eternal axe man has written a twisted interweaved complicated masterpiece, adding his brilliant vocal display with the unrelenting musical styles buggered if I know how he manages to coordinate it all into this EP, and yes it’s just an EP, there will be a highly anticipated album release from Orbweaver in the future, but I guarantee the 5 songs on display will have you drooling from your pie hole for more. Taking just over 30min to get through this trippy number, its great value for an EP which plays for the length of most full length albums of the extreme kind, and it’s out not to disappoint and it definitely doesn’t.
From the giant aliens on the EP Sleeve, to the freak show drug crazed blends of musicianship this EP is an absolute ball tearer, bringing a mixture and a taste for everyone who like their stuff abit on the “out there”. Please excuse me I’m heading to my Mancave to turn my red light on, crank the strobe light up, put on Orbweaver full blast on the stereo and roll me up something yummy to take me what ever planet these guys are from, coz it sure aint hell earth man!
